How to install .deb files with iFile

This method of installing files is mainly addressed to those who are not near the computer or those who do not want to install files with Mobile Terminal. Although the version with Mobile Terminal is simpler and I recommend it, you have a tutorial here.

Anyway, let's start.

Step 1

To be able to install files with iFile, you must first be able to download them from the Internet directly to your phone. For this you need 3 things: internet connection, Safari Download Plugin and Safari Download Manager. Safari Download Plugin is free but Safari Download Manager is not, you can buy it from Cydia from the BigBoss repo or you can get it from other places.

Step 2

If you already have the 2 applications installed, let's move on to the 3rd one, iFile, which again is not free, can be found in Cydia and it costs $4. If you don't know what iFile does, take a look here.

Step 3

Download the .deb file using Safari, is very important, because Safari will download it in a certain folder that I will tell you in the next steps, if you download using something else, you will have to search for the file by phone.

Step 4

After downloading the .deb file, open iFile on your phone, from the settings menu check Show Hidden files On and navigate to: var/mobile/Library/Downloads where you will find the downloaded file. Select it and iFile will display 2 options: Zip viewer and Installer, select Installer and iFile will install the file. After finishing the installation, the file should appear in Springboard, if it does not appear, respring the phone.

You also have a video tutorial here, but beware, it is in English.
