Last night Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has launched 3.1.3 firmware which brings, in addition to the official list of news, a new baseband which BLOCK DECODING THE PHONE, a solution to the exploit on which it runs blackra1n; some news about that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), he did not speak officially; but last night also appeared the first tutorial for jailbreak the new software.
Let's take them one by one: - the new baseband has the version 05.12.01, so if somehow you did a restore & update last night or just update your phone that didn't need it blacksn0w/ultrasn0w and now you have the baseband 05.12.01 then THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO DECODE IT AND IT WILL REMAIN BLOCKED UNTIL SOMEONE PUBLISHES A DECODER PROGRAM.
- blackra1n/PwnagetTool/Sn0wbreeze unfortunately they became unusable with the new firmware; the only software that can jailbreak is redsn0w, terminals compatible with redsn0w are: iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G (for those who do NOT need decoding), iPod Touch 1G, iPod Touch 2G (Non-MC) and that's it. iPhone 3Gs/iPod Touch 2G(new versions), iPod Touch 3G they are incompatible with redsn0w, so don't rush to update. For iPod Touch 2G owners (old versions), here are redsn0w versions compatible with your phone, THIS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN JAILBREAK : Mac, Windows.
I was also talking about some new features offered by the firmware Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), which were not included in the official list, here they are:
- The Core Audio which previously allowed to play malevolent mp4, causing the crash or the execution of iPod third-party code.
- ImageIO: that previously allowed to enter into TIFF images of the type of malicious code that ran
- Before putting the phone in this mode, a hacker was able to obtain data and personal information of a user, but now the access will be denied. (Who knows if it will affect the Jailbreak devices that need to be included in recovery mode rather than in DFU)
- WebKit: Delete the ability to access FTP hazardous Safari or terminate the program were running malicious code.
