WhatsApp is an application for iPhone si BlackBerry which allows you to communicate with your friends through messages or to send files from one terminal to another without using the mobile network.
Via WhatsApp you can send SMS / MMS-s to anything iPhone or BlackBerry, but more than that, the application will give you the opportunity to send photos, audio notes or videos, but the option to send movies is only available for iPhone 3GS. WhatsApp has the function implemented PUSH Notifications so every time you receive a message or someone tries to send you a file, you will be notified immediately by means of a message like PUSH.
