The company is behind this ingenious project Scosche, a manufacturer of accessories for iPhone / iPod Touch and newer for iPad, and the accessory you see in the video above is called iKit and represents a very simple solution for installing an iPad tablet in your car.
iKit represents a base made of a hard material fixed on the dashboard of the car, it has a connector in which the supporting platform is mounted iPad-, but it also has 2 slots for the cable USB and the audio connector, the guys from Scosche made a special cable that allows the connection USB and audio through the same cable, so you will be able to charge the tablet iPad but also listen to music through the car's audio system.
Considering that the tablet iPad it's not really that great in terms of sound, the guys from Scosche they will implement a sound amplification method so that using the tablet instead of a car cassette player does not differ so much in terms of sound.
The price for iKit it will be somewhere between $200-$250 depending on the model of the car.
