Samsung Galaxy Tab announced by Samsung

Apple started a real trend in the world of mobile terminal manufacturers by launching the iPad tablet, so now one of the largest manufacturers of electronic components in the world, Samsung, has announced that it will produce a tablet called the Samsung Galaxy Tab, which will resemble in many ways regarding the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone.

The announcement was made through the Twitter account of the Samsung blog in South Africa, also through the same account coming the information that the tablet has a 7-inch TFT screen and as it appears from the tweet, it could be just one of the models in production. Other sources I claim that the tablet would run Android OS with TouchWiz UI modified by Samsung, it would have a front camera, and that it would work on 3G networks.

At first glance, it doesn't look bad and if you look closely, it even has a "Phone" icon, so it probably allows you to make calls. What do you say, would you give an iPad tablet for something like this?

UPDATED : It seems that the tablet will use the same processor as the Samsung Galaxy S and iPad/iPhone 4G/HD, i.e. a 1Ghz Intrinsity Hummingbird S5PC110 processor. To get an idea of how the new Samsung Galaxy S moves with this chip and Android 2.1, watch the video below. Everything is absolutely fluent, even videos in HD format run very well, and if Samsung switches this phone to Android 2.2, then the performance will be even better.
