iPhone OS 3 times more popular than Android OS in the USA

A recent study conducted on the US mobile terminal market revealed that iPhone OS has a market share 3 times higher than Android OS in the US, that is, iPhone OS owns 28% of the North American market compared to 9% owned by Android. Although in the first quarter of this year the terminals equipped with Android OS represented 28% of the total sales of mobile terminals in the USA, this did not have a major impact on the market share held in the USA, it only increased by a few percentages compared to from last year.

Another quite interesting result revealed by this study consists in the preferences of users regarding the operating system that the next phone they will buy should have, so that 80% of iPhone owners declared that the next mobile terminal on who will buy it will also run iPhone OS, the percentage of those who now own a terminal equipped with Android OS and will buy a new phone with the same operating system, being 70%. It seems that users of smartphones equipped with Android/iPhone OS are more than satisfied with what these operating systems now offer them, and this will lead to an even fiercer competition between manufacturers to come up with the most innovative things intended to attract new users.
