The experience with iOS 4.0 continues

Yesterday I told you a little about Experience mine with jailbroken iOS 4.0, but also about how iOS 4 WORKS on the iPhone 3GS, and today I will complete those articles with new information related to the functionality of iOS 4.0.

I was very pleased yesterday with the way the GPS works in iOS 4.0, I basically opened the Maps application and the phone located my position in a few seconds without being connected to the Internet, without anything. Maybe for some it seems like a small thing, but for me, at least in iPhone OS 3.x, it never happened to me that the Maps application locates me almost immediately and without an Internet connection, and I know for sure that some people had even bigger problems with the GPS. The second thing I'm happy with in iOS 4.0 is the battery life, which seems to have been considerably improved, but the fact that I don't have mobilesubstrates installed in my phone must also be taken into account.

Yesterday's problems with iOS 4.0 jailbroken boil down to Cydia and WiFi. The problem with Cydia probably has more to do with the application itself than with the operating system, anyway Cydia works very hard on iOS 4.0, unfortunately an update of the list of applications takes a good few minutes while Cydia works intensively to populate the list with the description new applications. The problem with WiFi is a little more delicate, first of all I noticed that the phone connects more difficult to WiFi networks, it's not a big lag but you can feel a difference compared to iPhone OS 3.x. Secondly, I had the displeasure of being disconnected from a certain WiFi network on which I had no problems until now, basically it was a WiFi of a mall and I found myself disconnected from it about 4 times, this in the conditions which on OS 3.x I used the same WiFi without any problem. Unfortunately, after each disconnection, the phone refuses to connect to the place, I don't know if the problem is from iOS 4.0 or from the respective WiFi, but it is worth mentioning.

So, that's it for today, tomorrow I'll come back with new details if necessary.
