Apple recorded over 600.000 pre-orders for the iPhone 4 yesterday

Apple has just published a press release announcing that yesterday it registered over 600.000 pre-orders for iPhone 4 from all countries where the new iPhone is officially sold, thus Apple registered the highest number of pre-orders in a the only day for a product. An extremely large number of pre-orders was to be expected considering that yesterday AT&T recorded 10 times more traffic than when pre-orders opened for the iPhone 3GS and no less than 13 million Americans have entered the AT&T website to check if I can purchase the new iPhone 4.

Even Apple was taken by surprise by the extremely large number of pre-orders and I for one hope that the stocks of the company from Cupertino will be enough to satisfy the enormously high demand on the market, if with the iPad we had surprises in terms of the launch dates then with iPhone 4 will be even more problems, so I expect Apple to advance the launch of iPhone 4 in certain countries, I hope we are not among them.

CUPERTINO, Calif., June 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Yesterday Apple and its carrier partners took pre-orders for more than 600,000 of Apple's new iPhone 4. It was the largest number of pre-orders Apple has ever taken in a single day and was far higher than we anticipated, resulting in many order and approval system malfunctions. Many customers were turned away or abandoned the process in frustration. We apologize to everyone who encountered difficulties, and hope that they will try again or visit an Apple or carrier store once the iPhone 4 is in stock.
