Does the iPhone 4 have an 800Mhz processor?

Those from Anandtech I argue that the new iPhone 4 would have an 800Mhz processor and not 1Ghz as everyone assumes. The iPhone 4 is equipped with an A4 chip, identical to the one on the iPad, so everyone went on the logical assumption that the iPhone 4 has a 1Ghz processor. If you remember, 2 weeks ago I wrote one article in which we told you that in synthetic tests the iPad proved to be faster than the iPhone 4, well Anandtech did some similar tests and the results are below:

The iPhone 4 performance is inconsistent and never better than the iPad tablet, even weaker than the iPhone 3GS in some places. Unfortunately, the above benchmarks could not provide clear information on the processor frequency, so the guys from Anandtech used another benchmark called Geekbench to strictly test the performance between iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

According to these tests, the performance difference between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3GS is 25%, so those from Anandtech said that the iPhone 4 processor is 25% faster than the one in the iPhone 3GS, meaning it has 800Mhz. At the same time, they claim that the A4 chip in the iPhone 4 would have more cache memory than the one on the iPad and an improved memory management system that would have allowed Apple to lower the working frequency of the processor in order to mainly increase battery life. .

I for one have a different opinion, I think that this comparison between iOS 4.0 and iOS 3.2 is superfluous because we are talking about 2 different operating systems, iOS 3.2 having much fewer APIs and probably much fewer background processes than iOS 4.0. iOS 4.0 moves much harder on the iPhone 3GS than on the iPhone 4 and this is proof of the fact that iOS 4.0 requires more processing power, so a test that provides correct information should be done with the same operating system on all 3 devices.

From my point of view, the difference in performance between the iPad and iPhone 4 is mainly due to the differences between the 2 operating systems, but unfortunately, until there is reliable information regarding the frequency of the iPhone 4 process, we can only go with the assumption.
