43.000 developers make applications for iOS

According to those from Apple HQ, there are currently almost 54.000 developers who make applications for iOS and Android, and over 1000 of them sell their applications on both platforms. At the moment, 43.000 of them make applications for iOS and only a little over 10.000 make applications for Android, so Apple managed to attract 4 times more developers than Google. The main reason for this enormous difference lies in the fact that developers of iOS applications make much more money from the AppStore than from the Android Market, and to be serious, the main goal is to monetize applications because many of these developers earn their living from making applications.

At the moment, only 1500 developers make applications compatible with both platforms, but there are signs that their number will increase, and this is absolutely normal considering that the Android OS is starting to mature, to be adopted more and more many smartphones and used by an increasing number of people. Besides that, Google is taking important steps to improve its security, so in the future Android users will benefit from applications of a quality similar to those in the AppStore.
