An overheated iPod stops trains in Tokyo

A few days ago the train network in Tokyo was blocked for 8 minutes because of an iPod that overheated and "exploded" in the hand of its owner. The iPod gave off a strange smell inside the train so the railway representatives had to stop the train to check the source of the smell, and were surprised to find out that they stopped the entire network because of a burnt iPod.

Apple has a very big problem because of the iPods sold in Japan, this being the 60th iPod that burns in the hands of a customer. The other day, Apple started a company to exchange iPods produced in certain factories, but it seems that not all owners managed to change their terminal. Such cases are rare in the US and Europe, but last year there were several news reports showing cracked iPhones "out of nowhere" or others that "snapped" due to overheating.
