Orange will build an Internet tablet that will compete with the iPad

According to a French newspaper, Orange is working with an Asian company to produce an Internet tablet that will be sold together with the iPad tablet sometime around the winter holidays. According to the same newspaper, the tablet will have a price 2 times lower than the iPad tablet, will run the Android operating system and will allow connection to the Internet through 3G networks. It is not yet known who will produce the new tablet or other details regarding its hardware, but it is clear that Orange (like other gadget manufacturers) is trying to take advantage of the "boom" created by the iPad tablet in the field of sales of internet tablets.

Besides the introduction of the new tablet produced under its own brand, Orange plans to introduce the iPad tablet in the current offer until the Christmas holidays this year, so it is possible that Orange Romania will also launch the iPad tablet this year, but only 2 months before announcing the next model of the tablet. It is very likely that in January 2011 Apple will launch iPad 2 with immediate availability, but for now this information is just a rumor.
