Apple has SENT recently registered a patent for a new multifunctional audio jack for iDevices. The old audio jack would be covered by everything, and the new slot would be mounted on the left side of the phone where the volume buttons and the silent button are now. The new socket for the jack of the cats could also have a microphone installed, but it could also be covered with a certain material to avoid the entry of dust particles/liquids or other materials. Apple introduced in all its terminals audio ports and USB connectors without any kind of cover and this caused many problems, whether it was dust entering under the contacts or liquids entering the respective locations.
It is assumed that in the iPhone 4 a similar technology was used to twist microphones to filter background noise, but what Apple is presenting now is much more interesting because it would reduce the number of open slots.
