KT will launch Identity Tab

KT, the South Korean mobile phone operator that registered over 130.000 orders for the iPhone 4 just 14 hours after the official launch, has announced today it will launch an Internet tablet running the Android operating system. The tablet is called "Identity Tab", it has a 7-inch screen, a 1Ghz processor, 8GB internal memory, a 3-megapixel camera, and of course it will try to "compete" with Apple's iPad tablet. It is not known what version of Android the tablet is running, but it is probably Android 2.2 Froyo. The price of the tablet is very good, KT choosing to sell the Identity Tab for only $23 with a 2-year contract or $441 full price.

The Identity Tab joins the Samsung Galaxy Tab in the "league" of tablets that try to rival the iPad tablet, but I suspect that none of them will be able to rise to the level of the Apple tablet.
