The production cost of iPod Nano 6G is only $43

iPod Nano 6G was presented by Apple on September 1 at the conference where we saw for the first time the iPod Touch 4G and the new AppleTV. Although it was presented on September 1, the new iPod Nano was only available a week later and now we have the first information about the production costs of the new terminal. According to those from iSuppli Apple spends only $43 to build the new iPod Nano model, but Apple demands a minimum of $149 for the 8GB model, so $106 more than the production cost. This is a frequent practice of those from Apple because they use to "inflate" the final prices of the products by much more than the production price.

For example, the iPhone 4 costs around $200 to produce, but the cheapest model costs $599 in Apple stores, so a price more than double what Apple spent on production. Unfortunately, the competition does not manage to make sufficiently competitive products to force the hand of those from Apple and from year to year the iDevices become more and more expensive.
