Apple is removing the AirPrint option from iOS 4.2 for the iPod Touch 2G

AirPrint is a new feature introduced by Apple in iOS 4.2 and will allow us to use our iDevices to print web pages/documents/photos using any compatible printer. This new function was initially introduced for the iPad, iPhone 3GS/4 and iPod Touch 2G/3G/4G, but with the release of iOS 4.2 Apple decided to remove this function from the iPod Touch 2G. A possible explanation for this lies in the fact that the iPod Touch 2G has almost the same hardware configuration as the iPhone 3G, that is, it is not capable enough to do complex things on iOS 4.2.

Although I could be wrong, I still think that Apple could reduce the number of iDevices compatible with the AirPrint function and the victims of this limitation could be iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G. Why? Very simple... forcing customers to switch to the new generation of terminals. Apple does this year after year with each new product release and could do it with the release of iOS 4.2, but it's just a guess and it remains to be seen what decision Apple will make.
