Video: Images filmed by an iPhone 4 sent into space

It seems that the Americans have quite a lot free time available during this period, so a resident of New York decided to send an iPhone 4 terminal into space to film the entire journey plus some images of our planet. For this experiment he used an iPhone 4 terminal, several balloons filled with helium and a case specially designed so that the phone could safely return to earth. The terminal reached a height of almost 19 miles and the captured images are truly extraordinary, this being probably the first and only experiment of this kind in the world.

When it reached the height of 19 miles, the terminal was left without the support of the weather balloon filled with helium, which broke so that the crack on which it was fixed began a very fast journey towards the earth. The terminal sent information about its location throughout the descent, and it was recovered 30 miles from New York. Americans have a very rich imagination and sometimes they use it for good purposes.

What balloons do you see? They only used a balloon. In the low altitude test they used more.

  2. I think that the iPhone is the most tested device from all points of view. Interesting video, I would never have thought that they would send it into space to be honest.

  3. Very interesting idea, but in my opinion they could also choose a day when there are not so many clouds in the sky 😛
