You remember the technology Wi-Fi Direct™? If so, then find out now that Samsung will turn the Samsung Galaxy S terminal into the first terminal compatible with the new Wi-Fi Direct™ technology. On website The Wi-Fi Alliance terminal is listed as being compatible with the new standard and it seems that certain Wi-Fi chips are already compatible with this new standard and the manufacturers just have to release a software update that "unlocks" the functionality in the chips . For those of you who don't know yet, the Wi-Fi™ Direct standard allows compatible devices to interconnect with each other in a similar way to the process of connecting to a BlueTooth device, we'll basically be able to do with Wi-Fi everything we can do now only via Bluetooth.

I don't want to enter again into the discussion regarding the implementation of this standard on iDevices because we all know that Apple will implement this standard either in the iPad 2 or in the iPhone 5, if not the Wi-Fi chip in the iPhone 4/iPod Touch 4G is already compatible. On the other hand, Samsung is ahead of Apple, but I have the impression that Samsung will be "the only one in front" because there are not so many devices compatible with this standard.
