Sharp Galapagos: The first Android terminals with a 3D screen

Recently, 3D technology is gaining more and more ground all over the world and if at the beginning it was about 3D TVs with giant screens, now Sharp thought that it would be good to make the first smartphones equipped with 3D screens. In the images above you have the Galapagos 003SH and 005SH models, 2 terminals equipped with the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, which have 3 3.8D screens with a resolution of 800×480 pixels and a 1GHz processor. The 003SH model is equipped with a 9.6 megapixel camera and its brother the 005SH (which also has a QWERTY keyboard) is only equipped with an 8 megapixel camera, but both are capable of recording video in 720p format.

Sharp took care to sign several contracts with some production houses to offer customers 3D content directly in the terminals so that the first customers will be able to view movies such as Resident Evil or Mega Man as soon as they purchase their terminals. The Galapagos 003SH model will be available from December of this year, following that the 005SH model will appear on the market in February. To be honest, the 2 terminals are competitive at the moment because, from a hardware point of view, they are able to "keep up" with any smartphone. Whether they will be successful remains to be seen, but one thing is clear, 3D is the future.
