Fring is one of the most used platforms for voice calls or video calls using an internet connection and your mobile phone. The Fring network offers much lower prices for national and international calls (than a normal telephone network), but the prices depend on the country you are in or from which you are calling. Anyway, today Fring a updated the application for Android/iOS implementing DVQ technology - Dynamic Video Quality - for video calls made on the iPhone 4. This new technology allows you to adjust the framerate of the video stream depending on your data connection. If you have a weak connection, then the application will automatically reduce the framerate to ensure a stream as fluid as possible, and if you have a fast connection, the framerate and quality of the stream will automatically increase.

Fring focuses on maintaining the best possible audio quality, this being the main reason for starting a conversation, so if you find yourself in an area with a very weak signal, it is possible that the application will block your video stream to maintain a quality audio as good as possible. The application is free in the AppStore, video calls are the same, but as far as I know they only work on iPhone 4.
