Google sent some terminals to some reviewers of some big sites in the USA and here we already have one first review completely and two hands-on videos with the new terminal from Google. Many people expected the Nexus S to bring a lot of news compared to the old Nexus One, and I could say that Google managed to implement enough news in the new terminal to make it attractive for those looking for a new smartphone. Compared to the Nexus One, we have a new design, a new type of screen, a gyroscope, a chip compatible with NFC technology, a new operating system plus other subtle changes.

In general, the Nexus S is faster than the Nexus One, but I would say that this improvement is mainly due to the optimizations made in Android and not to the included hardware, because the new terminal has almost the same hardware as its predecessor. As for the Nexus S camera, it does not excel either in taking pictures or in video recording, and worse, the camera is not capable of recording HD in 720p format, but only in 720×480 format. The experience of surfing the Internet is terrible, and here I direct your attention to the first video, the zoom moves incredibly hard and the scrolling is far from what iOS, Blackberry OS or Windows Phone 7 offers.

The screen of the terminal seems to be far below the Retina Display of the iPhone 4, and probably the quality of the footage is a guess, because the icons look quite strange on the screen and in the case of surfing the Internet, you can notice that the text is illegible until zooming in.

Let's not forget that Nexus S is a terminal made mainly for Android application developers, and Google put more emphasis on optimizing Android than on manufacturing a terminal with spectacular specifications. I don't think that this terminal could compete with the iPhone 4, and I don't think that Google had such a plan.
