Sony wins the first battle in the lawsuit against geohot and the failoverfl0w team

A few months ago, Sony filed a request for a restraining order to prevent geohot and members of the failoverfl0w team from distributing on the Internet any materials related to the jailbreak solution for the PlayStation 3. In addition to this restriction, Sony asked the state to confiscate all the computers and computer equipment used by geohot and the team for the development of the jailbreak solution. Although geohot was initially able to breathe a sigh of relief because the court before which the case ended up was declared incompetent to try him, Sony appealed against this decision and the US District Court of North Carolina approved the restraining order requested by the company.

So, geohot and the failoverfl0w team have been silenced, they cannot talk at all about the jailbreak solution and what they discovered while developing it, and they will be forced to hand over to the state all the equipment used in the development of the program. Of course, once the program is on the Internet, it will be distributed anywhere in the world without any hindrance, but it must be remembered that an American court agreed to grant a restriction order in such a case.
