Apple patents iChat for iPhone

Do you think that FaceTime is the only attempt by Apple to bring video chat to iDevices? Well not because Apple just did patented a system called iChat for iPhone that will allow us to make video conferences between several users using an iPhone terminal. It seems that this application will detect the quality of the data connection but also the type of camera used and will adapt the video stream according to this data. In this application we will also have available a list of friends who have devices compatible with this platform, we will be able to send them invitations to join the conference and they will be able to refuse to participate but will have the option to start a separate video session with us .

Basically, Apple will make an application that will use the FaceTime function to allow us to make video conferences. Apple will probably also allow the initiation of video calls via 3G, otherwise I don't really see why it would be necessary to check the quality of the connection. The good part is that this application will be available directly from iOS so we will not have to purchase or install 3rd party applications from the AppStore to be able to make video conferences with our friends.
