This morning I presented you with images in Premiere with the screen of the new iPad 2 tablet. The screen was purchased from China by iFixYouri.com which compared it with the screen of the iPad tablet to give us an idea of what awaits us as soon as Apple launches the new tablet. Now we have a few more information about the new screen, more precisely we have information about its weight, length and thickness:
iPad 1 display: Weight: 153.2 grams. Length: 8.25 inches x 6.7 inches
iPad 2 display: Weight: 143.9 grams Length: 8.25 inches x 6.4 inches
The iPad 2 screen is almost 10 grams lighter than the iPad. I don't know how much this will matter in terms of battery life or maybe the possibility of implementing new hardware in the tablet, anyway we are all waiting for its presentation.
UPDATED: In the meantime, the people from 9To5Mac have corrected their calculations, so the above specifications have turned into these:
iPad 1 display: Weight: 153.2 grams. Length: 20.1 cm x 15.2 cm
iPad 2 display: Weight: 143.9 grams Length: 20.1 cm x 15.2 cm
So 10 grams lighter and a mm thinner than before. Let's see what Jony Ive can do with that?
