VoiceActivator is the first application for iDevices that allows us to open applications/web pages, etc. using simple voice commands. This technology has existed for Android for a long time and is much more complex, but for iDevices there is only the possibility to call someone, to start a song, very simple things. VoiceActivator changes the rules of the game because it allows us to customize the actions we can do using voice commands. VoiceActivator works together with the Activator plugin that allows the execution of all these functions, but remember: using this tweak will have a rather large impact on battery autonomy.

Anyway, VoiceActivator allows us to:

  • open tweaks or applications;
  • to write and recite phrases that will be automatically edited by the iDevice;
  • to perform various actions in the system: to take a screenshot, to activate the mute button, to activate the volume buttons, etc.;
  • Turn on/off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi;
  • lock/unlock the device, activate the home button, sleep, etc.
  • to customize any action that will be recognized by the device.

VoiceActivator is available in Cydia for $4.99, a fairly reasonable price. It seems that this version has some bugs and version 1.0.2 will be available soon in Cydia.

UPDATED: The tweak is great, but if it would have allowed users to speak directly into the device without opening VoiceControl, it would have been exceptional.
