Video: Debian Updater updates Cydia sources without opening the application

Debian Updater is a toggle for SBSettings with which you can update the list of sources in Cydia without actually opening the application. The tweak works in the background and updates the sources once you activate it from the toggles menu of SBSettings, you being notified only if there are updates for Cydia or not. If there are updates, next to the Cydia icon a badge will be displayed that shows the number of available updates.

SBSettings update no allow opening the Cydia application during the source update to avoid possible conflicts. During the update you will see an icon displayed in the Status Bar of the application.

Here are the functions of SBSettings Updater:

  • Toggle ON = you can refresh the list of your pkg sources.
  • Toggle OFF = pkg source list is updating, but you can cancel it.
  • An icon appears on the status bar when a source list update is in progress.
  • Notification badge for new packages to upgrade.
  • Launching the Cydia app is locked when updating your sources, to avoid conflicts.
  • Options can be set in the Settings panel.

The tweak can be managed from the Settings menu of your terminal. SBSettings Updater is available for free in Cydia.
