Google has announced today the launch in the AppStore of the Google Translate application that allows users to translate texts as well as words spoken into the device's microphone. Yes, you heard right, the new application from Google will allow users to translate the words spoken into the microphone and recorded by the application. The application uses the google translate engine available for more than 2 years on the web and of course the application needs an internet connection to work.
The application allows the translation of words from over 50 languages around the world, but here we are only talking about text. On the voice recognition side, the application allows the translation of only 15 languages for now and no, the Romanian language is not among them. The application is also equipped with a voice synthesizer that allows you to speak the translation, regardless of whether we are talking about a translated text phrase or some words recorded by the application through the microphone. You can listen to the translation made by the application in 23 languages and of course the Romanian language is completely missing from this list as well.
The application is very useful for those who travel abroad, but for Romania it is a bit useless.
