The Wall Street Journal publication a obtained information from sources close to Apple about the iPad 2 tablet and largely confirms the rumors that have appeared so far. According to the WSJ, the iPad 2 will have a screen with a similar (not identical) resolution to that of the iPad tablet, it will be thinner, lighter, it will have a more powerful processor, more RAM and a new graphics processor. The tablet would be produced in 3 versions: 3G CDMA, 3G GSM and Wi-Fi Only, Apple currently producing the new product that would be launched both at AT&T and at the Verizon network where the terminal was also recently launched iPhone 4.
Apple Inc. has started manufacturing a new version of its iPad tablet computer with a built-in camera and faster processor, said people familiar with the matter. The new iPad will be thinner and lighter than the first model, these people said. It will have at least one camera on the front of the device for features like video-conferencing, but the resolution of the display will be similar to the first iPad, these people said. It will also have more memory and a more powerful graphics processor, they said. The new iPad will initially be available through Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc., but not Sprint Nextel Corp. or T-Mobile USA in the US, according to some of the people familiar with the matter.
The tablet would also have 2 cameras, one front and one mounted on the back and the video clip presented by me today confirms again this is true. WSJ claims that Apple has already started producing the new model of the tablet, but does not specify a possible date for its presentation or launch. Those from WSJ claim, however, that the new model of the tablet would have a price similar to that of the current version.
