Having trouble with your iPhone 4 background noise canceling microphone?

For those who don't know, the iPhone 4 has a microphone to eliminate background noise, known as noise cancellation microphone, placed at the top of the device, next to the 3.5 mm audio jack. At the time of launch, only iPhone 4 and Google Nexus One were the only smartphones with such microphones and their purpose was to eliminate background noise during audio calls. Using this microphone to eliminate background noise, the calls were much clearer, the people on the other end of the line could hear you much better, without hearing what was happening around you. In the clip below we have a demonstration made by Pocketnow.com last summer immediately after the launch of the iPhone 4 and it demonstrates how this microphone should work.

This is how it works normally, but not for everyone, because since the summer and until now, many people complain about the fact that this microphone causes quite big problems during calls. Whether it's that the person on the other end of the line can't hear you at all, or it's dropouts or a background noise that sounds like a "fasait", some people have had quite a bit of trouble with this noise-canceling microphone background.

How many of you had similar problems?
