The Motorola Xoom costs $800 and is available for pre-order

The Motorola Xoom tablet is disposable for pre-order at the American retailer Best Buy in the 3G version which costs $800. The price is more than acceptable considering that the most expensive iPad 3G tablet costs $829, but we are talking about the 64GB model. The tablet was initially rumored to cost $1199, but in the end Best Buy is listing it at $400 less, a much more competitive price that could turn the Motorola Xoom into a worthy competitor to the iPad for now and iPad 2 later. Personally, I would be interested in testing this tablet because, from my point of view, it is above the iPad at the moment (except for making the applications available) and it is the most interesting tablet with Android 3.0 presented so far.

Motorola Xoom will also be available in a Wi-Fi only version that would cost only $600 and should be available in the following months. Now Apple is fighting with Android both in the segment of smartphones and in that of tablets and I hope that iPad 2 will keep Apple at the top because we need competition at this level, otherwise all manufacturers will limit themselves and we will end up in the situation before the iPhone was launched .
