Chronic Dev Team is working on a program that will replace iTunes

The Chronic Dev Team is working on a program that could replace iTunes, at least that's what p0sixninja claims in a reply on Twitter to a user. At the moment, all iDevices need iTunes to install iOS, regardless of the version, to copy music/movies, to activate the devices, iTunes being practically indispensable for an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owner. I assume that the Chronic Dev Team wants to make a program that allows iDevice owners to restore when they want, to which version of iOS, with or without baseband update, to copy any applications they want, etc.

P0sixninja claims that this program could be available in at least 6 months because it is about the development from scratch of a program that largely imitates the functionality of iTunes. Unfortunately, iTunes is necessary to buy movies, music, some applications, so we won't be able to do without this program and probably Apple will find ways to block the use of the one made by the Chronic Dev Team, so personally I don't think that an alternative for iTunes would it brings even so many benefits in total.
