Apple changed the order inventory system before the iPad 2 launch

You all know how much "secrecy" is behind the Apple company and how TRYING the company to keep hidden all the aspects related to the functioning of its services. Last year, American analysts estimated the number of iPad tablets sold based on the number of orders registered in the Apple Store since the tablets went on sale. This year Apple decided to change the order numbering system to prevent analysts from making assumptions about the number of tablets sold, so all orders received random registration numbers.

It's the first time that Apple does something like this and it's very unusual considering that anyway it will publicize the number of iPad 2 tablets sold. The only problem that arises is: will Apple lie or not when it officially declares the number of tablets sold?
