The name comes from the fact that this service allows you to listen to your favorite songs uploaded to your Dropbox account. On DropTunes you can log in with your DropBox account and using the built-in audio player you can stream your songs wherever you are. Of course, Dropbox also allows this function, but unfortunately, Dropbox's audio player leaves a lot to be desired.
