Super AMOLED Plus vs Super AMOLED vs Retina Display

The Samsung Galaxy S II has a new screen model called Super AMOLED Plus which should offer a much better quality of displayed images and should come as close as possible to the quality of the Retina Display on the iPhone 4. The from Phone Arena they did a small comparative test for the 3 smartphones and their conclusion was that although we are talking about a new technology in the Samsung Galaxy S II, the Retina Display in the iPhone 4 still "holds up well" in front of the competitors. The Retina Display screen still displays much more vivid and clear colors, works much better in high light conditions and has those over 300 pixels per inch that give it a big advantage. From what I can see, Retina Display is not much better and probably in the near future there will be a manufacturer that makes a better screen.

In the end it is visible that the IPS-LCD technology still produces brighter screens with higher resolution than AMOLED. Where AMOLED excels is contrast, true black colors, and slimmer profile, compared to LCD. Moreover, the Super AMOLED Plus packaging is now 18% thinner than Super AMOLED, which was a precursor for achieving the nice slim chassis of the Samsung Galaxy S II.
