Apple could buy Foursquare

During this morning, the co-founder of Foursquare together with a member of the PR team plus several other members of Foursquare's business department visited the Apple campus in Cupertino. Maybe at first glance there is nothing wrong with a little visit to Apple, but let's not forget that we are talking here about a company that would be very interested in implementing geolocation services in iOS.
For those who don't know, Foursquare is a social network that allows users to share their current location in real time from their own smartphone.

We are talking about a check-in service that is also offered by Facebook, but what would a social network made by Apple look like that would have this service implemented? Apple has the resources to acquire Foursquare and it has long been rumored that Apple would like to launch a social service for MobileMe called Find My Friends. Foursquare is very popular among the owners of Android, BlackBerry or Palm terminals, so for Apple it would represent an important acquisition.

For now, no one knows what is the main reason for the presence of those Foursquare representatives at Apple, but clearly they were not there to buy iPad 2.
