Today Microsoft announced the financial results for Q1 2011, the company making a profit of 5.23 billion dollars, almost 800 million dollars less than Apple. A similar thing happened 6 months ago, Apple surpassing Microsoft for the first time in 15 years in terms of profit, all thanks to the iPhone 4 terminal. The difference is not extraordinarily large, we are only talking about almost 16% difference between the 2 companies and we can only congratulate the Apple company for the achievement.
Apple had a financial quarter slightly below management's expectations, but finally the company manages to come out ahead of one of the rival companies. As far as the stock market capitalization of companies is concerned, Apple has surpassed Microsoft since the middle of last year and as things stand, Microsoft will not overtake it soon.
