Cydia Search is a new website that allows owners of jailbroken iDevices and more to search packages available in Cydia. We are talking about a website available on the Internet that takes information from Cydia and displays it directly in your browser in full format. We can search for applications/tweaks in Cydia by the category in which they are included, the repo in which they are available or by the author who developed them. The website has implemented a very well developed search system capable of finding any package as long as it is in one of the repos it connects to.
As soon as you find the application you like, you will have displayed in the browser all the information you can find in Cydia, but in a much better position. On the right side of the screen we have the loaded Cydia interface with all the information about the application and on the left side we have information about the author, the version available in ydia, the date of the last update, etc. The interface is very intuitive and from my point of view it replaces the constant opening of the Cydia application.
Here are the functions of Cydia Search:
- Search for applications/tweaks by: description, author name, package name, etc.
- Displaying a menu with: the most popular applications chosen based on user votes; the latest packages available; with recently updated packages.
- For each individual package, screenshots are displayed, a description plus information about the author, version, etc.
- The free packages are displayed separately from the paid ones.
- All packages are specially marked showing the address of the repo they belong to.
