Apple RIM and HTC collected three quarters of the profit of mobile phone manufacturers in Q1 2011

We all know that Apple does not produce many mobile phones compared to others, but it collects the highest profit of all. In the rectangle above, we have represented the profit collected by the major mobile phone manufacturers in the world in Q1 2011, i.e. the first 3 months of the year. The orange part is representative by Apple which collects 55% of the total profits generated by the sales of mobile phones. The rest of the manufacturers were put separately by those from Asymco and observed that Apple, RIM and HTC collect three quarters of the total profit generated by the sales of mobile phones and Samsung collects more money than Nokia.

I don't see non-smart devices being interesting to vendors in the near term. Each additional dumb phone added to a portfolio will decrease a company's operating margin. The market dynamics are such that I think non-smart phones will disappear entirely from branded portfolios in 3 to 5 years.

Nokia sells the most mobile phones among all manufacturers, but the profit generated is much much lower than that of Apple and even a little lower than that of Samsung. Apple is the undisputed leader in terms of the profits collected and nothing seems to change the situation too soon.
