In The Box is a new project launched by a French developer that will allow Android application developers to port their applications to the iOS platform. The program developed by him uses the Dalvik virtualization platform and in essence the process is similar to that developed by Adobe for porting flash applications to iOS. The developers must first make part of the code in Xcode and then port the application in the programming language accepted by Apple and the final result is an application that can be sent for approval in the AppStore because it will be as good as a normal one.

"in the box" is a porting of Dalvik VM and Gingerbread Android APIs on top of iOS. It enables Android application developers to execute their Android application on iOS.

At this time, the project is not really ready to checkout. Please, wait a little during the cleaning stage. You could contribute very soon, but you are welcome right now in discussion groups.

We will update the status of this project on this page, as well as in the announcement discussion group.

The In The Box project is very interesting and if in the end it turns out to work as the initiator presents it, then there will definitely be a lot of people interested in using it. What Android applications would you like to see on the iPhone, if there is one that you like and it is not in the AppStore. For those interested, the source code of In The Box can be found here.
