Does the iPad affect PC sales?

What the Mac failed to do, the iPad succeeds. PC sales recorded, for the first time in a very long time, a decrease and those from business Insider I believe that the iPad tablet is the main reason for this decrease. In December 2010, sales of PCs stagnated, following that in Q1 2011, sales registered a negative growth. Could the iPad tablet be the main reason why Microsoft loses money? Does Apple manage to steal customers from Microsoft with a tablet instead of a computer or a laptop?

Microsoft's consumer PC sales growth has pretty much never declined. Not even when Microsoft released Vista. Not even when the economy went in the toilet.

But suddenly, the growth of sales is about to go negative, says Citi analyst Walter Pritchard. Take a look at the chart below, and consider what changed in the last year.

The business insiders claim this, but I for one am not too convinced that the iPad tablet is to blame. It is true that Apple sold more iPad 2 tablets than iPad tablets, but in the first part of Q1 2011 tablet sales were not that great. You can't do anything on the iPad and the tablet needs a computer to load music or install certain applications, so the problem is probably somewhere else. The bad part for Steve Ballmer, the CEO of Microsoft, is that some shareholders are asking him to resign and it is possible that in the near future we will see an important change in the management of Microsoft.
