Notifications Center - how the new iOS 5 notification system works

Notifications Center is one of the most important functions of iOS 5 because it completely changes the way notifications are displayed for our iDevices. Apple's notification center was specially designed to give us the opportunity to choose how we want the notifications to be displayed, but also to have a menu in which we can list all the recently received notifications. The notification center is accessed by swyping from top to bottom on the screen and when you swype you will pull down the entire menu where you have displayed the last messages received by you through notifications.

Notice in the image above that we have 2 widgets displayed for stocks and weather, these widgets can be removed from the list or their position can be changed using the edit option from the Notifications menu in the Settings application. Under them we have the notifications received from the iDevice.ro application, but if you have calls, messages, or other notifications, they will all be displayed in the same list. It doesn't matter which application the notifications come from, they will be displayed there and I like that Apple also introduced the notifications from Mail, Messages plus the recent calls list of the Phone application. I really like the new Notification center and to be honest, because of it I would continue to use iOS beta 5 without the slightest problem.

On the settings side, in the Settings>Notifications menu, we have the possibility to turn off notifications altogether by deactivating the Notifications Center or the possibility to turn them off for each individual application. There is in this menu the possibility to set how many notifications are displayed in the Notifications Center: 5, 10, 15, there is the possibility to activate/deactivate their display in the Lockscreen and in addition there is the option to select the way in which we want the notifications to be displayed. We can choose for the notifications to be displayed exactly as before, that is, through a message in the middle of the screen (Alerts option), but there is an option to display the notifications in a small bar displayed under the status bar (Banners option) or there is the option to do not display notifications at all (None option).

In each application we can set predefined options for how our notifications appear, so you can choose for each application how your notifications will be displayed. I really like the new notification system, I'm sure you will be very happy with it too. It is important to remember that these notifications are not limited to PUSH ones, but to any notification made in our iOS, whether it is a message or a received call.
