iOS 5 warns us when we initiate calls on unsecured networks that can be intercepted

In iOS 5, Apple implemented a new alert that warns us when we make an insecure call on an unencrypted network. The function is new, the above message appeared on the screens of many users, even of this site, but I, on Orange, did not receive any kind of alert like this. It seems that Apple is trying to warn us when we are going to make a call on an unencrypted network and that call could be intercepted using a device called GSM IMSI Catcher that can very easily intercept this kind of calls.

there are a few mobile phones that show a small symbol on the display, eg an exclamation point, if encryption is not used. Another point is the calling number. Since the network access is handled with the SIM/USIM of the IMSI-catcher, the receiver cannot see the number of the calling party. Of course, this also implies that the tapped calls are not listed in the itemized bill.

The idea of intercepting calls is not new, but the messages sent by Apple are new because in iOS 4 no one reported the existence of such an error. It is good that Apple warns us about the existence of this error, but under what conditions does it appear? I haven't encountered it on Orange, so if the above error appears, please leave a comment and tell me which operator you have and if you were on a GRPS/EDGE/3G connection when the error appeared. It seems that in Romania only on Vodafone the above warning appears and only when you use the operator's GPRS network.
