iOS 5 brings over 200 new features and the possibility to take pictures using the volume buttons is one of them. Scott Forstal presented the new function of the Camera application right on the WWDC 2011 stage, but then he only mentioned that we can take pictures using the volume buttons of our terminals. However, it seems that the possibility of taking pictures using the volume buttons also extends to accessories, more precisely using the set of headphones included in the package of any iPhone we can take pictures. The shutter of the camera is triggered using the button that increases the volume of the terminal, exactly as in the case presented by Forstal on stage.
I for one am amazed that Apple included this option in the new iOS 5 considering that until now it has not given any indication that it might agree with offering it. I don't know how many will actually use the new function, but it's good to know that we have it available.
