Apple brings new accusations against Samsung in the iDevice copying process

In April, Apple sued Samsung, accusing it of copying distinctive elements of iDevices in its own products. Then Apple filed a lawsuit claiming that elements of iDevices were included in the following Samsung products: Samsung Captivate, Continuum, Vibrant, Galaxy S 4G, Epic 4G, Indulge, Mesmerize, Showcase, Fascinate, Nexus S, Gem, Transform, Intercept, Acclaim and Samsung Galaxy Tab. Today it is being judged, the request made by Apple to see the prototypes of the terminals from the Galaxy series, but also the reception made by Samsung asking to see the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 in which it considers that characteristic elements of some Samsung products are implemented. Considering the importance of today, Apple has updated the first request including in it a new series of Samsung terminals which it says were made with elements of some iDevices and these new terminals are: Droid Charge, Exhibit 4G, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Prevail, Galaxy S (i9000), Gravity , Infuse 4G, Nexus S 4G, Replenish, Sidekick, Galaxy Tab 10.1, and Galaxy S II, Showcase i500 and Showcase Galaxy S.

The original complaint specifically accused the following products of infringement: "the Samsung Captivate, Continuum, Vibrant, Galaxy S 4G, Epic 4G, Indulge, Mesmerize, Showcase, Fascinate, Nexus S, Gem, Transform, Intercept, and Acclaim smart phones and the Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet.” The amended complaint accuses all of the above plus the Droid Charge, Exhibit 4G, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Prevail, Galaxy S (i9000), Gravity, Infuse 4G, Nexus S 4G, Replenish, Sidekick, Galaxy Tab 10.1, and Galaxy S II ( aka Galaxy S 2). It also specifies the accusation against "Showcase" products, naming the Showcase i500 and Showcase Galaxy S.

In the updated request, Apple accuses Samsung of covertly trying to copy iDevices in order to take advantage of their success. The truth is that this process will be a long one and the 2 companies, although partners, will have many battles ahead and maybe everything will end with a understanding similar to the one concluded by Apple and Nokia.
