Video: Orange Sound Charge – the t-shirt that charges your phone while listening to music

In the laboratories of the mobile phone operator Orange UK, several scientists managed to DEVELOP a T-shirt that is able to charge a mobile phone using sound waves. Orange did not explain in detail the technology behind this T-shirt, but it is about piezoelectric technology and the capture of sound waves that are transformed into electrical energy. What Orange proposes to us is revolutionary for the clothing industry, but I don't know how useful such a product will prove to be for the average user who doesn't listen to music all the time.

Sound vibrations, particularly bass frequencies, will create enough shaking to produce electricity from a material as simple as piezoelectric film. It looks like it could provide a real solution to mobile charging and I'm interested to see how the Orange Sound Charge performs in a live testing environment such as Glastonbury.

Orange will test the new technology at a music festival that will take place in Great Britain in the next period, and probably then we will learn more about how the new technology works. Until then... how useful do you think such a product is?
