Apple confirms the launch of web applications for iCloud

Recently, there have been many discussions about the possible launch of web applications through which we can access information about emails, contacts, bookmarks saved in iCloud. Well, this evening Apple put an end to the speculation and officially announced that there will be web applications for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Bookmarks, Find My iPhone and Back To My Mac, but the iWeb, Gallery and iDisk services will no longer be accessible. All this information was published by Apple in a guide that explains the transition that users will make from MobilMe to iCloud. The MobileMe service will be available until June 30, 2012, after which it will be permanently closed.

Apple's support page can be found here and it explains some of the common questions that most MobileMe account holders have. Apple explains that the email address along with all its content will be transferred to iCloud, but the rest of the services such as iWeb, Gallery or iDisk will be unavailable and all the information in them will have to be moved elsewhere. iCloud will be officially launched in the fall and then Apple will provide additional information on how the transitions from MobileMe to iCloud will be made.
