The Argentine government prohibits the sale of iPhone and BlackBerry terminals

The Argentinian government recently took an extremely surprising decision blocked sales of iPhone and BlackBerry terminals. I think this is the first time when a country bans the sale of iPhone terminals based on a reason that is not related to any defect in the device. The Argentinian government recently adopted some measures aimed at reducing the level of inflation but stabilizing its national currency without the US dollar, and the sales of some electronic products, including iPhone and BlackBerry terminals, were temporarily blocked.

In order to continue selling iPhone terminals, Apple should build a factory in Argentina, something that companies such as Nokia, Samsung, Motorolas or LG have already done. Apple will probably not build a factory specifically for Argentines, and if the government does not change its mind, then iPhone terminals will not be able to be purchased in Argentina from now on.
