Free games bring more money to developers than paid games

Company Flurry from the USA analyzed the statistics regarding the habits of iDevices owners and discovered that in the USA free applications generate 65% of the revenues of the applications included by Apple in the top of the applications with the highest revenues. It may be hard to believe, but freemium applications attract more money and the concept is extraordinarily simple. The developer releases the free application in the App Store, users use it but to benefit from new functions or other bonuses they have to pay. The developers offer through in-app purchases new content, functions for applications or bonuses for games and everything costs from €0.79 to several dozen euros.

This trend started sometime last year when developers seemed to be more and more interested in launching freemium applications instead of paid ones. A free application attracts many downloads, a free application attracts many more users and the chances that a person will pay after trying the application are much higher. Many companies developing applications for iOS earn good money with this technique and it seems that in the future more and more applications will be built on this concept.
