Sales of iPad tablets generate more revenue than sales of Macs

Financial results presented by Apple last night surprised even the American analysts who predicted a weak Q3 for the company from Cupertino. In reality Apple had the most profitable fiscal quarter from history selling over 20 million iPhone terminals and over 9 million iPad tablets. From the sales of iPad tablets, Apple collected over 6 billion dollars, with 900 million dollars more than the amount collected from the sale of Macs. Apple sold almost 3 times more iPad tablets than Macs and generated higher revenues than in the case of the oldest brand in the company's offer.

We do believe that some customers chose to purchase an iPad instead of a new Mac during the quarter, but we also believe that even more customers chose to purchase an iPad over a Windows PC.

Tim Cook explained these results by saying that users prefer to buy an iPad tablet over a Mac or even a PC. The interim CEO of Apple admits that the iPad affected Mac sales, but claims that the same tablet attracted consumers who previously preferred to buy a PC over a Mac. For Apple, attracting PC owners is a real achievement considering that the iPad tablet is not a PC in the true sense of the word, but a multifunctional gadget but with many limitations compared to a notebook/netbook.

The iPhone has long been the product that helps Apple set sales and revenue records, but in the iPad tablet it has an ally and it seems that Apple currently depends on the success of the 2 iDevices.
