Safari used by 8% of internet users

Today the company Net Applications announced that Safari recorded a market share of 8% in July 2011. 8% of those who browsed the Internet in July used Apple's browser, but the company from Cupertino is still far from the market share held by Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. In the graph above we have the market share of the most important browsers available now and Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox have lost part of their market share in favor of Google Chrome, the Safari browser and the rest of the browsers available on the market.

In June, Safari had a market share of 7.58% compared to the 8.05% it has now, so we are talking about an increase of almost 0.5% in just one month. The data provided by the Net Applications company covers the traffic of over 40.000 sites with over 160 million visits, so it is more than relevant. The statistics represent the traffic generated by both mobile devices and computers, laptops, etc., so the increase in the market share recorded by Safari can also be due to the large number of iDevices sold by Apple in the last fiscal quarter.

In conclusion, Safari is doing well for now, but it is far from Firefox or Internet Explorer, which has a market share of 52% at the moment.
